The Beginning: The Sheiks of R&B started off as three San Francisco Bay Area musicians with influences ranging from jump blues legends like Louis Jordan and Wynonie Harris to masters such as Bo Diddley, Jimmy Reed, Howlin' Wolf, Willy Dixon and BB. King. We mix in a little New Orleans gumbo , some sweet Memphis Soul, and add a pinch of Rock & Roll... and before you know it you want to break outthose dancin' shoes.

The Sequel: Consisting of Founding member Jeroen Engelberts (on git-tar and vocals) and cohort Aad van Bruggen (Harmonica and Vocals) as well as Bass Ace Roelof Klijn (electric and sea bass) and Drummer Extraordinaire Antoon Aukes - The new Sheiks pretty much start off where the old ones ended: Jump Blues, N'awlin's R&B, with a dash of Wilson Pickett, a sprinkling of Ray Charles, and a healthy dab of all things Blues.
