Don Baraka - Saxophones/Backing Vocals.
Don is a veteran Bay Area musician whose latest claim to fame includes a 4-year stint with Red Archibald and the Internationals. Part of our music scene since 1959, he started recording in Oakland at Ray Dobard's Music City Records, backing local talents such as Bobby Freeman and gigging with blues artists Tiny Rucker, Big Miller, Mel "Chicken Fat" Brown and the great Freddie King. Steeped in jazz influences, his sound pays tribute to Earl Bostic's strong sax style and the mellow swing of Gene Ammons' soulful tenor. Don's classic r&b horn continues to add a new and exciting touch to Nightmare on Bourbon Street.
